I've already asked this question at portfolios page, but here it may be more appropriate.
I have a wordpress blog where I publish materials for my pupils. This blog is not in English. Is it a problem? May I use it anyway, or should I create a new one for this purpose? Thank you.

Nina Lyulkun said

No, Maja, it's not a problem.

Thank you, Nina! :) Great news! :)

If we don't understand the language a page is in, we can have http://translate.google.com/ translate it, and we'll have a good idea of what it says. Not perfect, but better than nothing.

I have the same question, Majo! Did anyone replied to you? My wordpress blog is Simonidinpsihoblog.wordpress.com.

Hi, Simonida! :) Glad to meet you here! :) No answer yet. I think that I will use my blog anyway: http://majinaklasaklavira.wordpress.com .

Dear Maja and Simonida,

Your blogs look very nice. If you feel comfortable to use your native language, no problems, way to go!
The best,

How can I add a picture to my Edmodo introduction? What about the links to the post? Thank you.

Nina Lyulkun said

Dear Regina,
I am absolutely new to Admodo also, and I fear that I cannot help. Let's wait when someone more experienced will explain us.

Dear Regina, do you mean to show your picture by your post? You need to go to your account>>profile and upload your photo there. As for the links, if you add a link, it will automatically become a hyperlink.

Regina10 said

at 1:37 pm on Jan 14, 2012

Thanks Carla. I've already solved that. One more issue, if you or any other moderator couls help me. When I write a note, it says "Me to Classdigitools". How can I add my name instead of that "Me"? Could that be the reason you haven't received my assigments yet?

Hi Regina, You are ME only to you, everyone else sees the name you use in Edmodo, so Regina Gomes, or Ms Gomes. We are all ME to ourselves ^_^

Regina10 said

Thank you so much for the hint, Lesley, and your kind reply. I hadn't thought of that.

Lesley Cioccarelli said

Dear Moderators
Is there a way to tidy up my Edmodo view? I'm having trouble finding the correct places to post my 'assignments'.
Also, can I get rid of the '8 Assignments due' and '7 late assignments' messages? All except two assignments seem to have been created by mistake by participants and it's a little off-putting coming in and seeing those messages, makes me think I've fallen way behind :-(
Cheers, Lesley

Carla Arena said

at 10:18 pm on Jan 11, 2012

Dear Lesley,

Don't worry about the X assignments due as some participants just created the assignments instead of following the thread, which is OK. We're here to play around and test things. As for the view. the best way for you to view things is to go to our edmodo group and click on the folder Week 1. There, you'll have all the important links to resources and assignments of the week. Thanks for asking.

Lesley Cioccarelli said

at 11:25 pm on Jan 11, 2012

Thanks Carla.
I wasn't worried, I realised what had happened, but was just hoping there was some way of turning off the accidental assignments. I had finally worked out that the folders were the best place to go for the course resources.
Cheers, Lesley

Lesley Cioccarelli said

at 11:28 pm on Jan 11, 2012

PS - I've just noticed that someone has added a lot of folders to the Edmodo, pushing the 'Week' folders right off my initial view! If we get too many folders on the course that's going to make it difficult to find the ones. I think there are too many very keen participants in this course playing around with all the features of Edmodo :-)

Carla Arena said

at 9:16 pm on Jan 14, 2012

I know :-) I just wish I could delete or reorganize the extra folders, but we can just edit the ones we create. As everybody registered as teachers, they can all play around with all features. When there's a teacher and all students, things are more controlled and organized.

Lesley Cioccarelli said

at 10:08 pm on Jan 14, 2012

I was wondering about that, and how teachers manage a class in Edmodo. Guess we have a bt of anarchy with all teachers and no students :-).

Hi there

Is there a way to receive everything from Edmodo in a digest format? I am being overwhelmed by Edmodo posts in my account and it is frustrating. thanks

Hi there,
I think you'll have to go to ACCOUNT, to HOME. There, choose PREFERENCES. I haven't tried it out yet myself, but I hope it'll help.

Lesley Cioccarelli said

at 5:54 pm on Jan 11, 2012

I don't think you can get a digest, but you can turn off some of the notifications. As DPohl says, you go to ACCOUNT (top left) then SETTINGS, and then you'll see the NOTIFICATIONS at the top left. If you turn off 'Notes' and 'Replies' you'll greatly reduce the emails. Probably wise not to turn off 'Alerts' as these are used by our Moderators to let us know about something important.
Cheers, Lesley

Carla Arena said

at 10:20 pm on Jan 11, 2012

That's it, Heather. You can just go to your ACCOUNT>>SETTINGS>>NOTIFICATIONS. Keep just the Alerts on because that's how the Moderators send the important information to participants. Another solution is for you to add a filter to your own mailbox. Let us know if you still need help.

It seems to me that I have troubles in viewing the portfolios of other participants. It's important to me because I dout what should I have in mine.Maybe it's my computer that is blocking something? Thanks in advance.

Participants are sharing their digital portfolios at http://classdigitools.pbworks.com/w/page/49147633/portfolios . There you'll find the links to the ones who have shared with us.

Can I get a piece of advice? As soon as I submit my assignments, it shows "resubmit your assignment" in the window. And if I click on it the aasignment disappears.

Lesley Cioccarelli said

at 7:09 am on Jan 12, 2012

I don't think you have to submit any assignments - you just need to Reply to the Week 1 ... 'Assignment' post. I think the moderators have just used the assignment type of post to highlight the tasks for the course. If we submit them, I think only the moderators cOuld read them, but by posting, it means we share our posts with everyone.
At least that's how I think it works!

Lyubov said

at 4:22 am on Jan 13, 2012

Thank you Lesley,
I used the Reply window too, my introduction appeared, there were even some comments, but it seems that it remained to be being waited for.

Carla Arena said

at 8:46 am on Jan 13, 2012

Dear Lyubov,

The two assignments of the week are the following:
To post your introduction: The link to it is http://www.edmodo.com/post/41275801
To post your reflections about the ICT Integration Matrix at http://www.edmodo.com/post/41275015
You just need to reply to them.

Also, you should create your digital portfolio and the guidelines to it are at http://classdigitools.pbworks.com/w/page/47831132/Week1#Task4YourePortfolioDecidingforyourOnlineSpace

Let us know if you got it.

Dear Carla,
You are the most patient and the kindest moderator I have ever met.
So I am trying to follow your advice. I've just finished doing the Week 1 assignments (roughly).
I will do my best to cope with Week 2 assignments too.
Thank you again.

In the FAQs you say:
Can I get a certificate for my participation?

Due to the informal nature of interaction at EVO, we are unable to certify your participation. Nevertheless, the session moderators ca issue informal certificates of participation if requested and upon active participation during the six session weeks.

Since I must compete for my university hours every semester, I would be very interested in a certificate of participation at the end of the course, especially if I qualify. Thank you for offering.
